Andy Stevens

Executive director

Andy is a result-focused professional, offering comprehensive experience and visible achievements in the development and manufacture of opto-electronic, photonic and electronic products.

He has a proven track record for building and leading successful product teams that take products from conception through to high-volume manufacturing. Andy is acknowledged for his ability to develop and maintain long-term successful relationships with partners, suppliers, and customers around the globe.

 

Iannick Monfils

Executive director

Iannick has over 17 years of experience in the photonics and telecommunications industries. He manages all aspects of Coherent Solutions’ product’s life cycle.

Iannick has been responsible for inventing and bringing to market over 20 product families. He is passionate about digital signal processing and continues to develop algorithms for coherent communications.

 

 

Lance Wiggs

Non-executive director

Lance is the co-founder of Punakaiki Fund and a principal with Lance Wiggs Capital Management, the manager of the fund.

Lance combines a wide variety of global experiences with helping high-growth companies in New Zealand. He is a director of 11 of Punakaiki Fund’s investments, including Coherent Solutions, InfluxHQ, Onceit, Weirdly, Boardingware, RedSeed, EverEdgeIP, Mindfull, Melon Health, New Zealand Artesian Water, and Conqa.

Lance was the investment-banking advisor for Trade Me on its sale to Fairfax Media, and has advised a large number of local early stage companies over many years. He was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company in Washington DC, contracted to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London and consulted to BHP Billiton plants in South Africa, Australia and Mozambique. Lance was also elected Councillor for InternetNZ, where he was a member of the Audit Committee.

Lance has an MBA from Yale University (Strategy, Finance) and a Bachelor of Technology (Hons, Product Development) from Massey University. He has been a regular judge for the Hi-Tech Awards, BNZ Start-Up Alley and other events.

Heather Grace

Independent director

Heather is the founder of the TechBiz Success Academy, and Success With Grace Ltd, an NZTE registered training provider specialised in growing successful technology businesses. Heather has over 30 years’ commercial experience in the science, engineering and technology sectors. She was co-founder of Technology Systems and held Sales Management, Business Development, Network Management and General Management roles with Bayer NZ, Downer EDI and Rebain International.

Heather holds an NZCS in Chemistry, an NZIM Management Diploma and a Diploma in Workplace Psychology. Her background provides the Board with expertise in sales and business growth strategies, executive leadership and talent management. She also brings international business
experience in technology, manufacturing, service, distribution and supply chain management.

Roy Moody

Independent director

Roy is the Chief Executive Officer of Field Services Management SaaS company vWork and former Executive Director and CEO of Phitek Systems Limited, a 100% export hardware technology company. Roy led the turnaround of Phitek to make it the global leader in its field with a 5-fold increase in profits and a 4-fold increase in revenue in 4 years. He then managed the very successful sale of the company to a New York Stock Exchange listed technology company in 2017.

Originally an Engineer Roy brings a strong focus on innovation, strategy, governance, leadership, team building and process. He has a track record of delivering growth and profitably through actively seeking a disruptive point of difference in technologies to exploit new and existing markets.

Roy has over 20 years’ experience leading design, product and process innovation for highly successful New Zealand based export businesses delivering commercially successful technology products to business customers in the global market.

Experience in operating in complex markets and using regulation, intellectual property and brand to create barriers to competitor entry allows Roy to grow profitable, scalable and sustainable businesses.
